The four legged, biped, airborne, water borne so many species have been sharing this mother Earth.
Humankind is one among the multitude of species that enjoy this space called Earth. Mother earth nurtures, cares and sustains each of her child in the way that they can prosper and fulfil their birth responsibilities to the fullest. She provides thick forest cover, mountains for wild and other four legged animals, great water bodies for marine animals to thrive, large trees, bushes and fresh air for birds. Words fall short to describe her abundance.
Each species was blessed with some capability to realize their potential like sharp eye sight for eagles, excellent olfactory sense and wisdom and intelligence for humans. Physically humans were weak and would often fall prey to wild animals if not for their intelligence, thus man and animals came into conflict. Today with his intelligence, humans have been successful in combating many threats which came due to their earlier interaction with animals. The tide has become more favorable for humans in these times with the advancement of science and technology but at the time becoming brutal for nature. Man has claimed his supremacy — fair enough! But he did not stop there.
Cattle and poultry have become factories for poor animals to be brought and killed in inhuman conditions to satisfy taste buds. Transported to places in horrible conditions, made to procreate for meat, milk and other products and killed after the use and abuse. Cows, buffaloes, dogs, cats, sheep, birds the lists seem endless.
Mohanji and Mohanji foundation has been working endlessly on creating awareness about how human beings have a responsibility towards all beings and acting in helping rescue and rehabilitation of some, besides spreading awareness on the evils of animal cruelty. We are enjoying a fantastic life with comfort thanks to these sentient beings but now it’s time for these benefits to trickle down. Many parts of the world are work-torn or war torn and we want peace. The trade-off for peace is Non-violence. Our goal is to work on passing the goodies to other species and come out of the psychological notion of man-animal conflict.
